Upper Clavey Day 1

Well I have had a sick start to my US mission.My self Pete Daan Toni and Jess got on the Clavey river.

Well here are a few cool shots of the wainui agian what you can hopefully upsize!

Round 5, the rain hit hard this week and we got back on the wainui on tuesday stoked.It was quiet a bit lower than last week but still good.Here is a pic of myself droping of the 60,tossing the paddle early,I was bit scared of landed flat agian,so I tossed that shit early and tucked up, went a little over the bars,but was sweet !!

The money shot,with last weeks run,good water.Well I am stoked to be abel to get on this amazing run before I leave NZ.I finaly book my tickets for the states, I am departing NZ on 21st may for a 4 month stint of shit running around the states, cant wait its going to be sick!!!

Wainui stoutness!

Well its been way to long since I updated the blog.So thought I should put a update of the wainui river.We have had a lote of rain around the bay of plenty rangers,what mean we get to paddle theses amazing river in flood, what get very really done!

This was my 4 time down the wainui river and its always amazing, cant wait to get back on there.All pics taken by Greg Thomas

Huka Falls High Water

Well last Thursday, Mike, Sean and I, along with a few slalom dudes decided to head to Taupo to check out the Aratiatia Rapids at an extremely high flow. There was a line, but it was just so big and stout - we decided it should be saved for another day.

After scouting the Aratiatia Rapids, we all decided to head to Huka Falls. It was very high and stout looking. I think the flow was around 190 to 200 cumec. It had been awhile since I have sacked up and ran something big, so Sean and I decided to pick up our ballz and run this shit. It was very pushy in there and big, I managed to clean the whole lot and came off the drop with an almost perfect line, I was so stoked. Sean was close behind, he ened up having a bit of a shit line off the drop and got beat down to gnarl. It was hard to watch. He swam out of his boat and went so deep that he blacked out, and came up head down in the water. Scary shit, I pulled him to the side of the river, he was okay in the end and just stoked to still be alive.

old update

Well its been a long time since I updated the blog. It's summer time in NZ now, and its been sick so fare.. Here are a few pics from the Wainui decent with Brendon, Willz, Sam, Roil and myself back in early spring. May have been in September, it was a wee while ago. This is probably the best kayaking I have done in NZ , an amazing day boating
